Grinch Popcorn

This recipe I shared back in 2017. My friend Tamera shared the recipe she found on Pinterest by Two Sisters.

Needless to say, I made it again this year (2021) and it didn’t disappoint. I love watching the Christmas classics with the kids and my husband.

Below is my version and edits. I made this as our family got ready to watch How The Grinch Stole Christmas a few days ago.

Ingredients:
10 Cups of popped popcorn
Salt (optional)
3 tablespoons Butter (Sweet Cream Salted)
3 cups mini marshmallows
Green food coloring (or use yellow and blue to come up with green)
1/2 cup mini marshmallows
M&M Candies – Red

Preparation:
1-Pop your popcorn following the package instructions. Make sure to remove any unpopped kernels. Transfer your popcorn to a large bowl and set aside.
2-Have a bucket/bowl for each person. Set aside
3-Add salt if desired.
4-For the marshmallow mixture, melt the butter in a medium saucepan.
5-Add 3 cups of mini marshmallows and stir until they’re melted. Turn off the heat.
6-Add the green food coloring. If you’re using yellow and blue, add a couple of drops of yellow food coloring, mix until it’s bright yellow. Then add 1 small drop of blue food coloring and stir. This should give you a beautiful green color. You can add more of either color to reach the perfect “Grinch Green” shade desired.
7-Divide the popcorn amongst the bowls.
8-Slowly pour the mixture over the popcorn. Use a spatula to gently fold the marshmallow mixture until it’s mostly covered. Work fast because it will get sticky!
9-Add additional marshmallows and M&Ms.
10-Serve right away!

Enjoy, Bon Appétit, Buen Provecho!                                                               EdibleReflections.com

This is definitely a keeper. The kids enjoyed watching the movie and eating such a brightly colored and sweet/salty treat!
I have a feeling we’ll be making more of this version of popcorn over the next few weekends leading up to Christmas.

Ili 🙂
