We went to Louisville, KY over the weekend. We knew we wanted to do some touristy things like Churchill Downs and the Louisville Slugger Museum. Our meals were not planned, so we just kept that part of our trip open to suggestions.
We ran into a guy named Doc at the Carrie Gaulbert Cox Park that runs along the Ohio River. Conversation led to him suggesting the North End Cafe’s Frankfort location for breakfast the next day. He also happened to be the owner!
We didn’t know what to expect. On the other hand, we were pleasantly surprised once we arrived. The neighborhood was chic and full of charm, and the parking lot was full – which is a great sign in my book! π
My husband had the Hearty Breakfast that included eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, home fries, grits and choice of bread. He didn’t share, but it sure looked delicious. I went with a lighter option, which was two Breakfast Tacos. They were both deliciously fresh and filling. The kids shared a Special Pancake from the kid’s menu which had chocolate chips, and a creme and raspberry compote topping. It was absolutely yummy … so yummy that I couldn’t take a picture of the pancakes without my daughter’s fingers showing. She just couldn’t get enough of it. π
The staff was wonderful, super-kid friendly (a must for us!) and the food was amazing.
This is definitely a place worth coming back to the next time we visit Louisville.

For the record, I did offer to share … she said “no” π
