Happy December 31st, 2015

It’s that time of the year to reflect on all we’ve done, all we thought we were going to do, the unexpected that came along the way and the hopes for the coming new year.

I just read an article that made me reflect on how I live my life. Most people, myself included, focus on the to-do list, the kids, the future, etc. Instead I choose now to focus on today. So today is December 31st, I worked last night and I work tonight. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not upset. I work from home and I’ll be warm and cozy probably watching on TV the celebrations around the world. My kids are healthy and sleeping right now and I have a loving husband that puts up with my crazy work schedule. Could I ask for more? Sure, but why would I? I have everything I want and more than I need.

This year has had it’s ups and downs, the boring days and exciting days. The days that you feel that won’t end, but in the end it all passed cause nothing bad lasts forever and I work hard to make the good last as long as possible.

My outlet has been baking and cooking. It makes my family happy and keeps me grounded. I’ve shared the recipes and eating adventures here with you. For that I’m very grateful and wonder if you’re as crazy as I am. 🙂

So as you do the countdown to end 2015 and start 2016, remember that this very moment is the one that counts.

Note to self:
1. No one knows what will happen in a few hours or in a few days.
2. Be present and in the moment.
3. Call a friend. He/she might be surprised they didn’t get just a Facebook update.
4. Say hello and thank you to a stranger. Those little words can make a huge difference in someone’s life.
5. Be kind to myself. I can’t help anyone else if I don’t take care of me first.
6. Forgive and move on.
7. My grass is already greener. I don’t have time or desire to look at other lawns.
8. Think happy and be happy.
9. Work towards something always. Stay good busy.
10.Always be a better version of myself.

Happy December 31sth, 2015!

Cheers!

Ili 🙂
