Walking in to this restaurant is like going to your grandparents’ house. Warm welcome and tons of food. This is as good as it gets when it comes to good home-style southern food. The menu is simple and to the point. No confusion. What you read is what you get!

The chicken is delicious and juicy. The type that you want to lick every single bone until all you have is the skeleton. The mac-n-cheese is creamy and reminds me of my childhood. Those years when I wouldn’t want to eat anything else, but that. And it also reminded me of my college years when all I could afford was mac-n-cheese. All of us can relate. We’ve been there. 😉

The place gets crowded with all the neighborhood folks so you see tables talking to each other as if it was an extension of Sunday church service.

It’s great to see restaurants in our Donelson neighborhood that want you to feel at home. And it’s a bonus that they have wonderful food. You know you’ve arrived at a good restaurant when its food transports you to a happy time and place in your life. This is what comfort food means to me.
