Shortly after moving to Nashville I was introduced to fried pickles. I’ve tried a few in the last 7 years, but by far the ones at Country Boy Restaurant are the best. They were cooked perfectly. Their crunchiness was enough to satisfy my craving no matter the time of day. Continue reading

Donelson’s Guac Mexican Grill – Where have I been all this time?

Image

So today I decided to take my hubby out for a lunch date. We had heard about Guac on the Hip Donelson Facebook page. I assumed it was a new restaurant.

Boy, was I wrong! While talking to the owner, Rakesh, we find out that its been open for 3 years!!!

Where have I been? I’ve lived in Donelson for 5 years and didn’t know this place existed.

I ordered the burrito combo.

The server gave me a laundry list of tortilla types to pick from. I had no idea that there were so many! I go with the tomato tortilla. You can build it with any veggies, sauces and condiments you want.

The burrito turned out to be a lot bigger than my eyes. I ordered the super instead of the regular combo.Image
The black beans were as fresh as when I cook them at home (from scratch). The rice didn’t taste like instant rice (kudos for that).

The veggies looked and tasted like if they were straight from the garden or a farmer’s market.

Overall, my burrito lunch was super tasty, fresh and yummy! We will definitely go back.

Lesson learned: I need to be aware of my surroundings!

I have forgiven myself for not knowing about Guac before 🙂 !
