I really wanted chocolate. It’s been a while since I have baked with chocolate. An easy way to satisfy that craving is with brownies.
My original brownie recipe can be found on this link: Happy National Brownie Day!
Below are my variations for this particular post.
Heart-shaped brownies
Ingredients:
2 sticks of butter (1 cup)
2 cups of sugar
1/2 cup of dark cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 eggs (room temperature)
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Preparation:
1. Preheat the oven at 350° Fahrenheit.
2. Grease an 9×13 inch pan and set aside.
3. Melt the butter and let it cool for 5 minutes.
4. In an electric mixer place the melted butter and add each ingredient in the order listed and mix until well incorporated.
5. Pour the mixture into greased pan.
6. Bake for 20-30 minutes. Note: check for firmness after 18 minutes. Mines were done after 21 minutes.
7. Let it cool in the pan for about 30 minutes. Then flip it over onto a baking sheet. It should come out with no problem.
8. Use your cookie cutters to make the shapes you desire. See some plating inspirations in the pictures below.

I really got creative with my brownies. The heart-shape just made them so much fun!
This would be perfect to make for a date night, Valentine’s Day or any day that you want to make it special for someone.
Enjoy, Bon Appétit, Buen Provecho!
